Production Rates

Depending on the type of floor being installed and general conditions at the job site, the minimum average production rates for each man per day should be as follows:

Cutout with trim 15 ea. per man per day
Round Hole (grommet) 50 ea. per man per day
Fascia 120 lin. ft. per man per day
Plenum divider 120 lin. ft. per man per day
Unloading Trucks

If a loading dock is available, a 40-foot tractor trailer can be unloaded in two hours by two men using two pallet jacks.  Moving the material to the area receiving the A/F installation depends on the distance from the loading dock and on having a clear path to move the material.

Where an outside hoist or Hi-Boy forklift is used because there is no loading dock, it may take four men four hours to unload a tractor trailer of material.

Crew Size

The size of a crew is affected by various factors that are unique to each project. Examples of these are: size of the area to be installed; availability of the work area in combination with other trades; distance of moving material from storage to area; having continuous flow of work without stoppages in project construction schedule.  If these types of extraneous factors are not a consideration, then normal crew sizes for effective productivity rates in a given room area can be evaluated on the basis of the following square footages:
