Creating an account has many benefits:
Stringer / Crossmembers - steel or aluminum channel or square tube which is fastened to the pedestal head to provide lateral stability. Usually provided in 2’ or 4’ length or a combination of both. Can be snapped in place or fastened from the top with a screw. Used to form the grid system, in stringered systems there is one stringer under each edge of each access floor panel, except for special conditions and parallel to the wall at the perimeter. In woodcore systems the panels sit on top of the stringers, in most steel systems the panels nest inside the grid formed by the stringers. Typically provided with a gasket which can be either factory applied or field installed depending on the design. Sometimes called crossbars, channels or connecting rods, crosspieces, joiners, bars, grid, grid arm, channels, lateral bars, horizontal bars.
