Airflow management is an essential concept because it is the first step to reducing operating costs and energy consumption in a data center. By implementing airflow management solutions such as grommets, blanking panels, containment, and other initiatives, it allows you to raise temperature set points, turn off cooling units, and reduce fan speeds, which in return reduces energy consumption and operating expenses. We recommend using the 4 Rs methodology when implementing airflow management solutions to see the best benefits. The 4 Rs methodology is a unique guide to ensure the optimal outcome of airflow management initiatives by applying in this proper sequence: Raised Floor/Rack, Row, and Room (Learn More).
The KoldLok® line of products set the industry standard for sealing openings in raised-floor data centers and are engineered to limit bypass airflow in raised floor applications efficiently.
Perforated Panel - a 24" x 24" raised access floor panel specially constructed to allow for air flow distribution from under the raised access floor. Load ratings are equal to full panels. Available with or without a damper for regulating air flow. Available with high pressure laminate surface covering to match full panels. Typically 25% of the surface is open area in a rectangular arrangement of small holes. Sometimes called a perf, an air flow panel, air tiles, perforated panels, air vents, and louvers.
If you are looking for a Perforated Panel please visit our Panel and Component Replacement Center for instructions on how to get the exact panel recommended for your floor system.
The Infinity® Air Grate is guaranteed to fit into your floor system. Eliminate the frustrations associated with finding replacement tiles or having something modified or custom built. What sets this high performance air grate apart from all others is its ability to adapt to both wood core and welded steel raised computer floor systems.
Designed to effectively seal openings in IT equipment cabinets and control airflow for optimized cooling effectiveness. The HotLok® Blanking Panel reduces hot spots and bypass airflow by preventing equipment exhaust air or hot aisle air from migrating to the conditioned air intake stream at the front of the cabinet.
The PlenaForm® Baffle System is an effective raised floor partition system for controlling subfloor air flow distribution in raised floor data centers. This flexible and scalable raised floor partition system solves dynamic thermal imbalances in data centers by directing or blocking airflow under raised floors.
SwitchFix- Network switch equipment typically sits at the top and back portion of the server rack. This placement makes it difficult for cold air from the cold aisle to travel from the front of the rack to the intake side(s) of the Network Switch. The SwitchFix solves this problem by extending from the front of the rack in the cold aisle to the switch at the back of the rack. This allows cold air from the cold aisle to reach the network equipment for proper cooling
The SwitchFix extends cold airflow from the front of the rack in the cold aisle to the switch at the back of the rack. This allows cold air from the cold aisle to reach the network equipment for proper cooling.
Aisle Containment- Hot/cold aisle is a format for racks of servers and generally IT apparatus inside a data center where the rack fronts face the rack fronts of the adjacent row. When cold aisle containment approach is used, row doors, aisle ceilings, or overhead vertical walls are installed to contain the cold air coming from the cooling systems into the cold aisles. As the opposite, in hot aisle containment, the hot air is contained so that the CRAC units just receive hot air. In a raised floor environment the most cost-effective way to separate the airstreams is by implementing cold aisle containment *****
This configuration aims to decrease the amount of produced energy and reduce the costs regarding the cooling process by controlling the air flow.
AisleLok® products are modularly designed, aisle airflow management solutions that are specifically designed to block airflow and ensure hot and cold aisle separation in your data center.
